Deb McKay with her winning artwork in the Waterhouse Emerging Artist category, supported by HSAA

Hill Smith Art Advisory are once again proud to support the renowned South Australian Museum’s ‘Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize’ as donors for the prestigious Emerging Artist Prize. HSAA have proudly supported the nationally recognised art prize for many years.

The 2022 winners were announced on 2nd June at the official opening event celebrating 20 years of the prize.

This year’s Emerging Artist Prize was won by Adelaide artist, Deb McKay for her piece “Fragile Forms”. Using ceramics as her medium, the artist says of the winning entry:

“This work is a study of movement, time and aging. It pays homage to the human body as it changes with age, exploring fragility and the way the forces of time, memory and movement impact upon it.”
